i am residing in holland and have sky tv, i lately lost the signal and have attempted to locate the satellite agai, but i just cant locate it, i am utilizing a low-cost sat finder, and it worked fine back in the summer season. Is it far more tough to uncover the satellite in winter/bad weather?

Yep, sure is, the signal from the Astra satellites is not that strong and heavy cloud (especially rain/storm cloud) can throw the signal off depending where you are. Another point of note is that with so many channels there isn’t just one but a set of co-located satellites that broadcast simultaneously, you dont actually need a sat-finder for sky, if you can have someone watch it and relay info to you whilst moving the dish the digibox has a signal strength meter built in.
so long as your dish has a clear “view” of the satellite’s position, when You had the service already there shouldn’t be any problem finding a signal at any time of Year.check for technical problems with the service, your equipment or batteries.
